Introduction to the Apprenticeship Program
This program aims to provide practical training to recent graduates and diploma holders in engineering and technology. It seeks to enhance their skills and employability by offering hands-on experience in real-world industry settings. The program includes both Graduate Apprentices and Technician Apprentices, catering to different educational levels.
NLC India Limited is inviting applications from eligible candidates who have completed their qualifications in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Applicants must have a full-time degree or diploma in relevant fields, as specified below.

NLC India has allocated a total of 588 apprenticeship slots, split into 336 for Graduate Apprentices and 252 for Technician Apprentices.

Stipend Information
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as follows:
- Graduate Apprenticeship Trainees (Engineering): ₹15,028.
- Graduate Apprenticeship Trainees (B.Sc. Nursing): ₹12,524 (includes ₹4,500 paid by the government under the DBT scheme).
- Technician Apprenticeship Trainees: ₹12,524 (includes ₹4,000 paid by the government under the DBT scheme).
This stipend will help support trainees during the one-year program and motivate them to gain practical exposure to industrial operations.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
For Graduate Apprenticeship Training:
- A full-time degree in Engineering, Technology, or Nursing from a recognized university or institution in the relevant discipline.
- Graduates of professional bodies recognized by State or Central Government are also eligible.
For Technician Apprenticeship Training:
- A full-time diploma in Engineering, Technology, or Nursing from a State Board or University in the relevant discipline.
- Diplomas granted by institutions recognized as equivalent by the State or Central Government are also acceptable.

Additional Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must belong to one of the following regions: Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, or Lakshadweep.
Applicants must have completed their qualifying exams between 2020 and 2024.
Candidates should not have previously undergone or be currently undergoing Apprenticeship Training in NLCIL or any other organization.
Age Limit
The age limit will follow the rules specified under the Apprenticeship Act. Applicants should check the guidelines for detailed age criteria.
Reservation Policy
Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD categories will follow government norms under the Apprenticeship Act.
- Candidates claiming reservation must submit valid certificates in the required format.
- For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), the certificate must have validity from 01-04-2024 to 31-03-2025.
Selection Process
- Criteria for Selection:
Selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree or diploma.- For candidates with grades or CGPA, the percentage will be calculated as per their university’s conversion norms.
- In the absence of specific conversion guidelines, the percentage will be calculated by multiplying the CGPA by 10.
- Tie-Breaker Rule:
If two candidates have the same percentage, the senior candidate by date of birth will be given preference. - Final Decision:
NLC India Limited holds the right to decide on candidate selection. Completion of training does not guarantee permanent employment with NLCIL.
